Join us for this "show-and-tell" exhibition of custom handcrafted ʻukulele, with demonstrations and illustrations of the design features incorporated into the ʻukulele on display. This is a unique opportunity to see — and hear — the innovative designs and construction processes of contemporary ‘ukulele designers. Alongside the exhibition, the ʻUkulele Project, led by Larry Santos, will host kanikapila throughout the day, so bring your ʻukulele and jump in. The ʻUkulele Guild of Hawaiʻi is dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation, and promotion of the ʻukulele as a significant cultural icon here on the island of its birth. The Guild serves as a clearinghouse of knowledge for the purpose of continually preserving and improving the art and craft of ʻukulele making and cultivating the historical background of the ʻukulele and its musical importance.
