Young Chautauqua invites youth ages 9 and up to step into the life of a historical figure! Participants research a person from history, create a costume, and develop, memorize, and rehearse a presentation based on their figure’s life, words, and writings. Led by middle school English teacher and acting coach Katherine Dumont, this program has helped young people explore history, acting, public speaking, and creative expression for more than 10 years. The program requires a commitment to research, practice, and participation. Younger children are welcome with an accompanying adult. The series ends with community performances, where participants bring their historical figures to life for an audience. Adults are encouraged to participate, too! Location: Estes Park Middle School, Room 126 More information can be found here.

Join veteran journalist Paul Vigna for an enlightening discussion on his book, The Almightier: How Money Became God, Greed Became Virtue, and Debt Became Sin. Vigna explores how money transformed from a practical tool into modern society's dominant faith, tracing its evolution from Renaissance Florence to today’s global markets. Through engaging anecdotes and original research, Vigna argues that money derives its power from the value we assign to it.
