Southfield is making a splash! On Wednesday, Oct. 28, we break ground on Southfield’s new Aquatic Center. Construction begins with the groundbreaking. Swipe to see renderings of what’s coming. The roughly $26 million project adds a 28,000-square-foot addition and renovates about 10,000 square feet of existing space. Here’s what’s planned: A 4,900-square-foot leisure pool with zero-depth entry and interactive water features A splash pad with ground jets, bubblers and double kiddie racer slides A lazy river with spray features and a conversation cove An indoor/outdoor water slide that loops outside the building and back in A four-lane, 75-foot lap pool with starting blocks A therapeutic pool for water aerobics and low-impact exercise New locker rooms, a community event space and a wet classroom for swim lessons It’s a new place for families to play, for residents to stay active and for neighbors to connect. Honoring the memories made here while we build what’s next. Come be part of Southfield history. Groundbreaking Ceremony: Wednesday, Oct. 28, 4 p.m. Outside the Southfield Sports Arena 26000 Evergreen Road Facebook <a href="https://twitter.com/Southfield_Gov" title="X" class="butto
