About
The Newark Earthworks is an Indigenous monumental complex built nearly 2,000 years ago during the Hopewell Cultural Period. As part of the broader Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks tradition, it was one of many sacred sites that brought Indigenous peoples together from across North America to gather, celebrate, and connect with the cycles of the universe. Join us with Sarah Hinkleman as she shares all about the Octagon mound and beyond.
